Private Number Pools

Drop Cowboy allows customers to maintain pools of phone numbers that are private to their Drop Cowboy account and not shared with other Drop Cowboy customers.

Phone numbers contained in these private number pools can be used as the caller ID when sending ringless voicemail. Drop Cowboy will automatically select the best phone number for a contact based on the same criteria mentioned previously:

• If postal_code is contained in the API request, we will select a caller ID nearest to the contact's postal code.

• If postal_code is omitted, we will select a caller ID nearest to the contact's area code based on the contact's phone number.

• If no match is found based on postal code or phone area code, then we will select a random caller_id from the number pool within the contact's country.

When the contact returns a call to the caller ID phone number, we will forward the call to whatever phone number you specify in the forwarding_number or send the call to your Drop Cowboy IVR that you specify in the phone_ivr_id property of your RVM API request.
